I love Kent, in my opinion there is no better place in England.
A couple of my top tips for places to visit/eat are:
Dreamy. This is my favourite place in the whole country. Go in late September, wrap up warm. Wander along the seafront and pick out your favourite beach hut or house to buy. Skim some pebbles into the sea if its flat enough (or just launch the in as far as you can if its not). Grab some Oysters from the Whitstable Fishing Company or book yourself in for lunch a bit further along the coast at The Sportsman. Grab an ice cream and stroll through town looking at seaside shops and finish off with some fish and chips on the beach.
If you ever find yourself near West Malling make sure you stop off in the quintessentially English market town. Pheasant and mash anyone…?
Another small village in the heart of Kent, Biddenden also boasts its own Vineyards. There are also a couple of local castles to visit (as you do) Sissinghurst and Leeds, working up an appetite before finishing your day at Michelin starred, The West House.
