Daylesford Farm Shop & Café

I was lucky enough to be invited along to the new Daylesford farm shop and café just off Marylebone for supper this week. Just back from a weekend at their annual summer festival all were in great spirits at the new site.

Clearly making the most of asparagus season it is featured in abundance on their café menu, and I pumped for beef carpaccio with raw asparagus and capers to start.image1

Both were quickly followed by our main courses of burgers and pasta. image6

image7While neither of these are necessarily the first image you think of when deciding what to eat at an English farm shop, it all really comes down to ingredients. All of the vegetable and salad we ate had that ‘picked this morning’ taste to it. Being from the Garden of England (Kent) this is something I value highly. And the meat was tasty. Nothing added to the burger to spice it up, just good flavoursome beef. The same goes for our first courses.

I’m very lucky to be based around the corner so this is going to be a regular lunchtime treat to pick up their salads to see me through the rest of the summer!
